OAE is honored to have successfully invited Professor Yi-Jun Shen from State Key Laboratory of Marine Resource Utilization in South China Sea, Hainan University, China to serve as the Editor-in-Chief for the new journal Marine Resource and Ocean Science (MROS).
Professor Yi-Jun Shen is a Fellow of the Institute of Marine Engineering, Science and Technology, UK, a Technical Program Committee (TPC) Member of the International Society of Ocean and Polar Engineering Conference (ISOPE), and the Session Chair in Subsea Umbilical Riser & Flowline (SURF).
He has 30 years' experience in China, Denmark, and UK in both international prestigious universities and the world's leading companies in R & D and technology innovation, design, consultancy, project execution & management, etc. He obtained his PhD degree from the School of Engineering Sciences, University of Southampton, UK. in 2003, and then worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Cranfield University, UK and a Research Fellow in Brunel University, West London, UK. He has nearly 15 years' experience in the world’s leading international companies in deep-sea oil & gas, ocean renewable energy and offshore engineering, e.g., as a Senior Consultant and Technology Manager at Wood Group, and as a Principal Consultant Engineer & Business Development Lead at ROSEN Group, etc. He is currently the Chair Professor in Ocean Energy and Deputy Director at the State Key Laboratory of Marine Resources Utilization in South China Sea, Hainan University.
He has rich experience in consultancy for international leading companies worldwide including Shell, BP, KBR, Maersk Oil, Statoil, BHP Billiton, PetroBras, etc., and has completed more than 50 research and collaborative projects worldwide. As an international recognized expert in deep-sea oil & gas development and ocean renewable energy, he has been invited to give plenary presentations, and keynote speeches in the key international conferences since 2008 such as Offshore Technology Conference (OTC), Deep Offshore Technology (DOT), Ocean, Offshore and Arctic Engineering (OMAE), International Ocean and Polar Engineering Conference (ISOPE), etc. He has published/presented over 40 papers in international journals or international conferences.
MROS is an international, peer-reviewed, open access journal which provides a forum for the publication of papers addressing all areas of marine resource development & utilization, and related ocean science and engineering. The journal aims to be the premier resource of seminal and insightful research and showcases for researchers in both academia and industry, constructing a platform of inspiration for exploring the relationship between marine resource and ocean science & engineering, promoting the development and utilization of marine resource, and seeking for a balance between the marine resource development and environmental ecology.
The Editorial Office of MROS highly appreciate Professor Shen's support and will work jointly with him to create a high-level journal with international influence. We believe that with the joint efforts of Professor Shen and all members of the Editorial Board and the Editorial Office, this goal will be achieved in the near future.
